Bio
I’m a computer scientist working in mathematical privacy and data protection. I’m a Distinguished Scientist and Engineer at Immuta, where my work has included privacy-preserving query processing and methods for quantifying re-identification risk. I’m a named inventor on six issued US patents in this area. More recently, I’ve been working on formal models of the legal definitions of anonymization and pseudonymization, and on systems for computer-assisted data protection assessments such as Parajudica.
My writing on privacy and data protection has appeared in Privacy & Data Protection, the CPDP book series, and the Oxford Encyclopedia of EU Law. I’ve participated in the PETs Expert Forum of the UK Information Commissioner’s Office and contributed to consultations by the European Data Protection Board and Germany’s BfDI.
My background is in mathematics and theoretical computer science. I completed a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering at The Ohio State University under Tamal K. Dey and Anastasios Sidiropoulos, and was a Senior Lecturer there from 2018 to 2025, alongside my work at Immuta.
